The Tánaiste has clarified when he expects the delivery of the report into Northern Ireland's Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme, the so-called 'cash for ash' controversy.

When addressing a Dail Committee yesterday, Simon Coveney gave the impression that the report of the public inquiry into the scheme might be published next month.

But this afternoon a spokesman for the Tánaiste said the Irish Government has no insight and does not know when the report is due.

Informed sources in Northern Ireland indicate that publication of the final report is several months away and that the inquiry team chaired by a retired judge, Patrick Coughlin, is still seeking information about a number of issues linked to their work.
