Solidarity-PBP have said they will support a motion of no confidence in Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy in the Dáil in the coming weeks.
The alliances of six TDs, who are currently holding their annual think in at Wynn's Hotel in Dublin, said that housing will be their key priority during the next election, describing the current situation as "out of control".
The alliance also said that abortion legislation, separation of church and state and precarious working conditions would also be key pillar areas which they intend to focus on in the new Dáil term.
People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett said the Government had failed in the most elementary of tasks to provide housing.
"Crucially we will be doing everything over the coming weeks to mobilise a massive demonstration outside the Dáil on October 3rd for the Raise the Roof protest and the emergency housing motion that the opposition will be putting down that day in the Dáil chamber," Mr Boyd Barrett said.
Solidarity TD Mick Barry said they would vote in favour of a motion of no confidence in Minister Murphy.
However, he added that replacing one Fine Gael housing minister with another Fine Gael housing minister would not be a step forward, saying policies had to change.
Mr Barry added that if there was a general election with housing as a key issue, then people would vote against the Government policy.
He also said while local government did have to take some responsibility for the failures in housing, the majority of the blame should lie with the Government.
Solidarity TD Ruth Coppinger said the progress of the abortion legislation would be a very significant feature of the next Dáil.
"The stunning victory of the repeal referendum and the reaction to the Pope's visit show that for a whole generation there is a desire for radical change in Ireland on issues like abortion rights and the state's relationship with the church," Ms Coppinger said.

Speaking on the Scally report, PBP TD BrId Smith said she was outraged by the idea that the report would be leaked before the women and their families would have a chance to see it.
She said it was "harsh and cruel" on the women affected.
She also warned against indemnifying the US laboratories involved.
Ms Coppinger also critcised the leaks, saying they were symptomatic of the disregard for women.
She said they would wait to see the report, but would not tolerate any "hushing up" of the issue.
