Minister of State Sean Kyne has said it is important to get agreement with Fianna Fáil to ensure the continued stability of the Government in light of what is happening in Westminster.
"When we see what's happening across the water even yesterday with votes on Brexit, it's hugely important that we have certainty coming up to crunch talks in October," he said.
The Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development said the Government hopes to reach an agreement with Fianna Fáil before the Budget.
He was speaking at the announcement of funds totalling €40m for disadvantaged people and communities across the country.
The money is coming from the Dormant Accounts Fund which is made up of unclaimed cash in banks and building societies.
