The Dáil has been suspended for five minutes by Leas Ceann Comhairle Pat the Cope Gallagher after a row broke out between Deputies Danny Healy-Rae, Michael Healy-Rae and Fianna Fáil's Marc MacSharry.

Deputy Danny Healy Rae raised the issue of farmers being given no payment after commonages were burned.

He asked Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to intervene to make sure they were given this money.

However, when Deputy Michael Healy-Rae said he wished to speak on the same issue the Ceann Comhairle asked if he had a card.

Deputy MacSharry objected to the interruption to the order of business, to which Michael Healy Rae replied "that's outrageous".

Deputy MacSharry was told to control himself by the Ceann Comhairle who said he would take action if it was necessary.

He said they were all circumventing the regulations and suspended the house for five minutes.

The Dáil has now resumed.
