Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has condemned the latest killing in Dublin in which a 27-year-old man was shot six times in the chest and stomach in the capital’s north inner city last night.
Gardaí investigating the death of Jason Molyneux at James Larkin House flats complex have described the killing as a "callous murder".
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Varadkar said he knows the area well and people do not deserve to see this violence.
He said gardaí are following a line of inquiry and the authorities already received European support in tackling crime gangs.

Separately, Minister for Finance and TD for Dublin Central Paschal Donohoe said the people of his constituency are "getting caught in a vicious war of organised crime."
Speaking on RTÉ's Drivetime, Mr Donohoe said he understands the fear of residents and that the Government is committed to bringing the perpetrators of last night's shooting to justice.
Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan also condemned the shooting, and told the Dáil that no stone would be left unturned in the investigation.
He was responding to Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin, who said that people were watching with great horror, the "murder and mayhem" on Dublin's streets.
Local Independent TD Maureen O'Sullivan said the scene last night around James Larkin House was "almost like a warzone".
Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Ms O'Sullivan said it was appalling for elderly and young people to have to live in an area where community members are killing each other.
"It's not something that should be part of normal life for people living in the north inner city," she said.

"So many really good communities, great work going on and this is what the children, particularly children and elderly people, that's becoming a reality of life for them, and it's just absolutely appalling."
A Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin Fingal accused the Government of failing to properly tackle the problem of gangs in the inner city.
Speaking on RTÉ's Today with Sean O'Rourke, Darragh O'Brien said it is clear that the current response, including the establishment of a task force, are not working.
"A political response is lacking and it's needed... we can do something about it, if the resources are behind it and if the guards are given the powers and the resources to deal with it, we can put a stop to these brutal murders," he said.
