A Cork woman campaigning to ensure her child is given access to cannabis-based medication has been removed from a sit-down protest outside the Dáil by gardaí.
Vera Twomey spent the last night sleeping outside Dáil Éireann.
Earlier this afternoon Ms Twomey and her supporters moved inside the Kildare Street gates of Leinster House and began a sit-down protest restricting the access of cars to and from the complex.

After discussions with gardaí, Ms Twomey and her supporters were removed by uniformed officers.
Speaking afterwards she said she was disappointed that Minister for Health Simon Harris refused to meet her, but described the gardaí on the scene as "very decent".
