A Sand Nativity Scene, sculpted by international artists, has opened on the shores of Gran Canaria island.
Ten sculptors from six different countries, including the US, Canada and Australia, have been working for several weeks to shape the monumental sand scenes.
A storm over the weekend threatened the sculptures, however yesterday tourists and local residents gathered at Las Canteras beach in Spain to view the works.

This year marks the 20th anniversary edition of the Sand Nativity Scene, which has been organised by a local family since 2006.
The event has become Spain's third most visited "museum" in December, drawing around 260,000 visitors over 40 days.
