Dinosaur footprints stretching more than 200 metres found in British quarry

Palaeontologists uncovered a set of dinosaur footprints stretching more than 200 metres in a British quarry during a summer excavation, the BBC reported.

Scientists worked to unearth the prints on Dewars Farm Quarry in Oxfordshire, where previous tracks were discovered in the 1990s and last year.

This latest discovery was found in a different part of the quarry.

"It's so rare to find something this big where you can get that picture into this past world," University of Birmingham Palaeontologist, Kirsty Edgar said.

A variety of seashells and a sea urchin were also uncovered.

Duncan Murdock from Oxford University's Museum of Natural History told the BBC they were important finds, as they give clues to where the dinosaurs were walking, possibly a lagoon.
