Police in Burlington, Ontario, had to set up an unusual rescue operation for five million bees that escaped after their bee hives fell off a truck.
It is unclear what happened but several beehive boxes slid off a trailer and spilled all over the road.
Beekeepers from all over the region were called in to help. They managed to corral the insects who had sought shelter in trees and mailboxes.

Many of them got stung despite wearing protection suits, local media reported.
The truck driver was stung over 100 times but did not need to be hospitalised.
