Video released by the Wyoming Highway Patrol shows the moment one of its troopers narrowly escaped a commercial semi-truck and trailer out of control near Rawlins, Wyoming while responding to an emergency on Interstate 80.
"Move over and slow down for emergency vehicles!", the highway patrol said in a comment accompanying the video.
US authorities have issued severe weather warnings as a winter storm was moving across the US, expected to hit large parts of the country with heavy rain, snow and gusty winds.
According to the National Weather Service, the winter storm was expected to batter areas from the west coast to the northeastern New England region until Friday.
The NWS advised against travel in the Upper Midwest due to blizzard conditions.
