Four women had a narrow escape when the boat they were travelling in came dangerously close to tipping over a Texas dam yesterday.
Emergency services got a call reporting a boat "up against the dam" at the Lady Bird Lake, a river-like reservoir on the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. "Looks like it's going to go over the dam," the caller told Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS).

The four women were on board an electric boat, which got stuck at the top of the dam after drifting too close to the spillway.
Another boat managed to secure it with a rope to prevent it going over, and emergency crews were eventually able to pull the boat and the four women to safety.
