It is now over one year since measures were introduced in Ireland to combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
In that time, our lives have changed dramatically.
Some people have lost loved ones.
Some have lost jobs or livelihoods.
Others have been working or learning from their kitchen table for a large part of the year.
Many people will also have spent time apart from friends and family that they would normally see regularly.
All of these things have changed the way that we live, and the way we feel.
In a recent series of questions on the RTÉ News Instagram account, we asked people what they missed most over the last year.
For some people it was travel, for others it was organised sport or a trip to a bar or restaurant, or the many everyday things which we took for granted.
However, the most common answer was time spent with family and the simple act of hugging a loved one.
Today, a special RTÉ News programme will be broadcast on our Twitter and Facebook channels discussing the impact of the pandemic on our well-being.
Presenter Samantha Libreri will be joined by Professor Paul D'Alton, from the School of Psychology at UCD, and by Professor Niamh Hourigan from Mary Immaculate College in Limerick.
'Hugs on Hold: A Year of Pandemic Living' will be broadcast live from 2.45pm and will also be available to view afterwards on the RTÉ News YouTube channel.
