Samantha Hartsoe made an unexpected discovery in her New York apartment earlier this month – a hidden apartment behind her bathroom mirror.
Documenting the find in a series of TikTok videos, which have gone viral, Ms Hartsoe said that she noticed a mysterious draft in her bathroom which left her bedroom cold. She sourced the draft coming from behind the bathroom mirror, which she was able to take off the wall.

"There's a room back there," she told her flatmates when she removed the mirror and looked through the hole in the wall.
"I need more answers," she said on the TikTok video. "I have to go in and figure out what is on the other side of my bathroom."
Armed with a hammer and a makeshift headlamp, Ms Hartsoe climbed through the hole and discovered the hidden three-bed apartment.
Once she climbed through, her flatmate John called: "You're in the other side of the dimension! Go onward."

Inside the empty apartment Ms Hartsoe found bin bags as well as a water bottle, which she described as "signs of life". However it was clear that no one was living in the apartment and she left.
Replacing the mirror on the wall, she said that her landlord was going to get a "fun phonecall" about her discovery.
