Police in Amsterdam were left in hysterics after discovering that the "lifeless body" they discovered during a routine patrol of the Oosterpark was nothing more than a snowman.
In an online post, police said they thought they had come across the victim of a crime or that someone had become unwell.
However, after approaching to investigate they quickly saw that police tape and an ambulance would not be needed and described it as a fine example of "snow creativity".
The Netherlands, like much of Europe, is in the midst of a deep-freeze that has seen record-breaking cold temperatures and heavy snowfall in parts.
