Proud father-to-be Edmond Khnaisser was filming as his wife Emmanuelle went into labour at St George's hospital in Beirut when a huge explosion rocked the Lebanese capital.
Footage shows Emmanuelle being wheeled into a delivery room on a stretcher, just as a blast resonates and windows implode from the explosion, which killed at least 149 people and injured 5,000.
Glass and medical equipment were strewn across the floor of the hospital. Edmond's video goes black, but medical staff can be heard comforting Emmanuelle.
Edmond shared the video on social media the next day, to confirm that his son had been safely delivered.
"Yesterday, my son George was born under a catastrophic blast," Edmond wrote.
"It was crazy, "I did not believe we came out alive. My wife is great and Baby George is amazing!"
The grateful father took the opportunity to thank the medical staff at the hospital, writing: "Huge appreciation to St George Hospital team, who stayed with us until we were safe, and even afterwards."
"You were all above the level of professionalism," he added.
In a message on behalf of newborn George, Edmond went on to thank the team for "bringing me safely into this world," adding: "I hope I can pay you back some day."
Photos show baby George, safely delivered, amid signs of commotion visible from the windows of the St George hospital.
