A young Syrian girl who went viral after a video showed her father playing a game to distract her from bomb strikes has begun a new life in Turkey.

Daily air strikes and bombs prompted Abdullah Mohammad to come up with a new way to help his three-year-old daughter Salwa adapt to the sounds of war.

He encouraged the three-year-old to simply laugh whenever she heard the sound of bombs or missiles.

Mr Mohammad said that many children suffer psychological hardships and stress due to the daily air strikes.

He said that he managed to convince his daughter that these noises are similar to sounds of fireworks and that they are nothing to be scared of.

Since the video, Salwa and her family have been invited to live in Turkey.
