Fishermen in Canada came to the rescue of a bald eagle that got itself in a bit of a tangle when it took on an octopus.
Crew from the Mowi Canada West fish farm shared a video of a giant Pacific octopus with its tentacle locked around the eagle near a fjord northwest of Vancouver island.
They were able to separate the unlikely combatants, who then went their separate ways.
Writing on Facebook, the company said its crews are used to seeing the wonders of nature on a regular basis, but this was a "once in a lifetime" encounter.
"The eagle that had bitten off more than it could chew when it tried to catch an octopus," it added.
The octopus swam away unharmed, while the eagle took some time to recover on a nearby branch before flying away.
