Over a dozen houses were destroyed in La Paz, Bolivia on Tuesday after a landslide in a hilly suburban area at the city's outskirts.

According to local media, 17 homes were destroyed, and several others damaged.

No deaths were reported, as authorities had cleared the area amidst fears of collapse.

Families evacuated with their pets as they seek new shelter.

La Paz, dubbed the "mountain city", has seen its urban sprawl reach the slopes of the city's hilly areas where foundations are fragile.
