A huge "SOS" signal was beamed onto Britain's famous White Cliffs of Dover on Wednesday, in an apparent plea for help during continued Brexit turmoil.
The huge message in the style of the EU flag was organised by grassroots anti-Brexit activists Led By Donkeys.
The group has used extravagant means to portray an anti-Brexit ethos before, by unfurling a huge banner at the People's Vote March and pasting screenshots of seemingly contradictory tweets from MPs onto billboards across England.
On Twitter, the group tweeted images of the projection at France's Emmanuel Macron and Germany's Angela Merkel asking for more time, adding they think "the people should decide what happens next".
Three years after Britons voted to quit the EU in a referendum, and with only a week left before a new, delayed exit date, government and parliament are still bitterly divided over how, when or even whether to leave.
A hard Brexit on 12 April without any transition deal to cushion the shock to trade, business or consumers remains a real possibility.
