A man has escaped with minor injuries after forcing his way through locked hotel doors to escape a gunman in Natick, Massachusetts.

Natick Police Department released security camera footage showing the moment the man launched himself into  automatic doors at the Crown Plaza hotel, before making his way into the lobby through the small opening he had created.

The gunman reached through the gap to shoot, but the victim was not hit, police said.

After receiving the reports of a shooting, in the early hours of 26 March, police evacuated "several of the hotel guests" and secured nearby areas.

The suspect fled the scene "without completely entering the lobby", police added.

An investigation is under way and Natick Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
