Firefighters in Naperville, Illinois rescued a young boy who had fallen through ice in a water retention basin.
Officers from the Naperville Fire Department used a rescue disc to reach the boy, who was then able to hold on and be pulled towards the edge of the basin.
An intervening officer, himself attached by a rope, swam out to make sure the boy got out safely.
"The boy’s feet were stuck in the muddy bottom of the pond, but he was able to communicate, and was pulled from the water within four minutes of the crews arriving on the scene," the firefighters wrote in a release to accompany the footage.
