A helicopter crew in Scotland pulled two stranded skiers to safety on Saturday, after blizzard conditions forced the pair to spend the night without shelter at an altitude of 914m.

Police Scotland received a call late on Friday alerting them that two people were stuck near Glencoe, but the mountain rescue team were unable to reach the climbers due to bad weather conditions.

A coastguard helicopter found the duo perched by a steep drop shortly after 8.30am on Saturday and winched them to safety.

They were taken to Torlundy, Fort William, where they were handed to the Scottish Ambulance Service.
