A man is in a critical condition following an alleged assault in Cork in the early hours of this morning.
The man, who is in his late 30s, was found by gardaí at Liffey Park in Mayfield at around 3am.
He was taken to University Hospital Cork, where he is in a critical condition.
The scene at Liffey Park has been sealed off for a forensic examination.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, in particular anyone who was in the Liffey Park area and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021 455 8510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
