A man in his 50s has died after the car he was driving was involved in a road accident at Castletownroche in Co Cork just before 1 o'clock this afternoon.
The man was the sole occupant of the car was was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination and a technical examination has been carried out at the scene.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses, or anyone with camera footage from the area between 12.30pm and 1pm, to contact them.
