A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in Co Tipperary last year.
The alleged assault occurred in the Castlecranna area, about 12km southwest of Nenagh, on 10 March 2025.
Stephen Clarke, who was aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He subsequently died in hospital on the morning of 25 April 2025.
The teenager, who cannot be identified because he is a juvenile, appeared before Tipperary Town District Court, sitting in Thurles.
Detective Garda Padraig O'Leary, of Nenagh Garda Station, gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution during the brief hearing.
He said the accused made no reply when the charge was put to him.
Judge Marie Keane said she did not have jurisdiction to grant bail on a charge of murder.
The court was told that a place for the accused was available at Oberstown Children Detention Campus in Dublin.
Judge Keane remanded the teenager to Oberstown to appear before Nenagh District Court via video link next Wednesday.
