A town-wide Easter egg hunt will take place in Ennis on Saturday, as Clare County Council hosts its inaugural Easter Festival.

The event marks the completion of the town's Public Realm Regeneration Project.

The festival is aimed at drawing visitors into Ennis, supporting local businesses and showcasing the newly upgraded public spaces.

Activities will run throughout the town centre from midday to 6pm, with live music, street performances and a range of children’s entertainment, including face painting and egg decorating.

An Easter egg hunt will be the centrepiece of the day, with families following a trail of clues to landmarks across Ennis.

The festival also coincides with the Piping Heaven/Piping Hell Tionól, a three-day celebration of uilleann piping taking place over the Easter weekend, featuring performances, workshops and a parade of pipers through the town.

Local representatives say the event will boost footfall and highlight the transformation of the town centre, while also showcasing Ennis as a vibrant, family-friendly destination.

Cathaoirleach Councillor Paul Murphy said the upgraded public spaces have greatly enhanced the appearance and vibrancy of the town centre.

"The public realm works have created new opportunities for the town to host family‑friendly events like this, and it promises to be a fun‑filled day for all," he said.
