Arrest made after nurse killed in Limerick road crash

A young man has been arrested in connection with a three-car collision in Co Limerick last month in which a nurse was killed.

Áine O'Reilly died on the N24 at Grange West, Boher, on the night of Friday 13 February.

The 33-year-old was the driver of one of the cars.

Ms O'Reilly was on her way to work in Shannondoc, an out-of-hours medical service in Limerick.

She was from Pallasgreen in Co Limerick.

A man in his 40s, the driver of one of the other cars, was injured in the crash.

The driver of the third car fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.

Gardaí said they arrested "an adult male, aged in his late teens, in connection with this investigation" this morning.

He is being detained at a garda station in Limerick.
