A man in his 70s has died in a single-car crash in Co Tipperary.
The man, who was travelling alone, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on the R660 at Holycross at around 2.15pm.
His body was removed to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road was later reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularly any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling on the R660 at Holycross around the time of the crash, to contact Thurles Garda Station on 0504 25100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
In a separate incident in Co Tipperary, five people were injured in a single-vehicle crash involving an SUV.
The crash occurred at Toem near Cappawhite at 6.15am.
Three men, aged in their 30s, and two women, aged in their 20s, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and were taken to UHL for treatment.
