The funeral has taken place of the Irish traditional music singer, Seán Ó Sé, who died earlier this week.
His funeral mass was celebrated in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Ballinlough, Cork.
The service was attended by the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Fergal Dennehy. The Taoiseach and the President were represented by their aides-de-camp.
In a reflection at the funeral mass, Seán Ó Sé's son, Con, said there were many strands to his father's life and three corner stones: his working life, education and singing.
He said the family was particularly pleased that the funeral mass was attended by pupils from St Mary's on the Hill National School in Knocknaheeny in Cork, where he had spent 13 years as principal.
He said his father had spent that 13 years relentlessly driving to ensure that every child in the school got the best chance in life.
He described his father's talent for singing as "God-given", and said he got as much enjoyment out of performing for people in small halls as big ones.
"Above all else, Dad loved his family and that is why we will miss him so much," he said.

Seán Ó Sé will be buried at Abbey Cemetery in Bantry, Co Cork.
Had he lived, he would have celebrated his 90th birthday today.
Mr Ó Sé was known especially for the song, 'An Poc ar Buile', about a mad puck goat. He had a hit with the song in 1962.
A gifted singer in Irish and English, he came to prominence in the 1960s with Irish composer and musician Séan Ó Riada's group, Ceoltóirí Chualann.
He later toured internationally with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann visiting Canada, the United States, Moscow, Shanghai and Havana.
A contributor to many radio and television programmes over the years, among those he recorded with were Donal Lunny, Dermot O'Brien and Peadar Ó Riada.
In 2021, Mr Ó Sé was awarded the TG4 Amhránaí na Bliana/Singer of the Year Award at the annual Gradaim Ceoil event held in Belfast.
Last October, Mr Ó Sé received an honorary doctorate from UCC in recognition of his immense contribution to Irish traditional music and heritage.
Mr Ó Sé was predeceased by his wife Eileen last year. He is survived by his three children, Áine, Con and Íde.
