Two men have appeared in court charged in connection with the seizure of drugs and cash worth around €800,000.
Christopher McCudden, 38, and 35-year-old Michael Pineda appeared before a sitting of Cork District Court, following their arrest in Cork city on 30 December.
Gardaí had seized €700,000 of cocaine, €60,000 of cannabis and €40,000 in cash in Cork.
Follow up searches in Dublin led to the seizure of an additional €10,000 of cannabis and €4,000 in cash.
Mr McCudden, with an address at Robin Hill, Sandyford Road in Dublin was charged with eight offences.
He faces three charges of possession of drugs for sale or supply, three charges involving the possession of drugs and two charges of money laundering.
An objection to bail was made and Det Garda Eoghan O'Mahony said that this was out of the "nature and seriousness of the charges and the possibility of further charges".
The court also heard that Mr McCudden represented a flight risk.
Free legal aid was assigned because Mr McCudden is a recipient of social welfare and Judge Catherine Ryan granted bail in the case with an independent surety of €10,000 and a cash lodgement of €5,000.
Mr McCudden was remanded in custody with consent to bail to appear before Cork District Court on 8 January.
Meanwhile, Mr Pineda of Castletreasure Grove, Douglas, Cork is charged with six offences.
He is charged with two counts of sale and supply of drugs, two counts of possession of drugs and two counts of money laundering.
There was no objection to bail once Mr Pineda abides bail conditions set down by the court.
This includes that he sign on at his local garda station, provide a mobile number to gardaí on which can be contacted on 24/7, and resides at his home address.
Mr Pineda was remanded on bail to appear before Cork District Court on 2 April for DPP directions.
