A man in his 80s who was knocked down in Ennis, Co Clare, on 8 December has died in hospital from his injuries.

The incident occurred in the Abbey Street area of Ennis on Monday 8 December at around 1pm.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, however he died yesterday.

The Coroner was notified and a post-mortem examination has since been completed.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Abbey Street area between 12:45pm and 1:15pm are asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
