Status Yellow rain warning under way for Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Wexford

Motorists are being urged to drive with care as heavy rain in the parts of the south of the country may lead to difficult travelling conditions, with a Status Yellow warning under way for four counties.

A Status Yellow rain warning came into effect at 2pm Sunday afternoon for Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

The warning will last until 9am Monday morning, while Wexford came under a Status Yellow rain warning from 8pm Sunday evening which will last until 10am Monday.

Met Éireann said persistent rain, "heavy at times" is forecast, which may cause localised flooding.
