A Status Yellow warning for rain is in place for six counties mainly in the southeast, with Met Éireann warning of difficult travel conditions.

The warning for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork and Waterford came into effect at midnight yesterday and will remain in place until midday.

Met Éieann has said localised flooding is possible, with poor visibility making for difficult travelling conditions.
