Gardaí are appealing to the public for help in locating a car that was hijacked in Co Tipperary yesterday.

The missing vehicle, a blue Kia Sorento Estate, registration number 141-G-3882, was the subject of a hijacking in Roscrea shortly after 5pm yesterday.

The suspect in the alleged hijacking is believed to be an eastern European man in his late 30s who is 1.62m (5'4") in height.

Gardaí are trying to identify the current location of the car.

The incident follows a separate alleged incident of criminal damage and theft of a vehicle in Midleton, Co Cork, shortly after 9am yesterday morning.

That vehicle was later found by gardaí.

Gardaí are advising members of the public who see the Kia Sorento - or who may have information on its current whereabouts - not to approach the vehicle or any occupants but to call 999/112.
