Gardaí investigating the death of a man in the north Cork village of Doneraile in the early hours of yesterday morning have arrested a third person for questioning.
A man in his 20s and a juvenile in his late teens were arrested this morning in connection with the death of Barry Daly, who was a local postal worker.
The third person being questioned is a juvenile in his late teens. He was arrested this afternoon.
All three are currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at garda stations in Co Cork.
A post-mortem examination on Mr Daly's body by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster has been completed.
For operational reasons, the results will not be released.
The house and roadway at Rockview Terrace, where he was found fatally injured yesterday, remained cordoned off overnight, as did a second location in the grounds of Doneraile Park.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to oversee the investigation.
An incident room has been set up in Mallow Garda Station and a family liaison officer has been assigned to Mr Daly's family.
In a statement, An Post said that its CEO and all staff were deeply shocked at the death of their colleague.
"We offer our deepest sympathy to Barry's family. May he rest in peace," a spokesperson said.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and want to hear from anyone who would have been in the village between midnight and 2am yesterday morning to contact them.
They are also appealing for dashcam or mobile phone footage as door-to-door inquiries continue.
