Man arrested after cannabis worth €114k seized in Cork, Waterford

A man has been arrested after €114,200 worth of cannabis was seized in counties Cork and Waterford.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting an organised crime group operating in the eastern and southern regions, gardaí from the Waterford County Drug Unit and the Cork City Drug Unit carried out a number of searches yesterday.

A vehicle and two residences were searched in Cork and Waterford, resulting in the seizure of suspected cannabis herb worth about €114,200.

A man in his 50s was arrested and is being held at a garda station in Cork city.

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis and investigations are ongoing.
