A motorcyclist in his 40s has died following an incident at a motocross event at Vernon Mount in Cork city.
Gardaí and paramedics attended the scene at around 1.30pm.
The man, who is understood to be from Co Cork, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out at Cork University Hospital.
The Coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held in due course.
The man's death comes as two men died in separate road crashes in the south of the country.
