A man in his 70s has died after a house fire in Co Clare in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services were alerted at around 3.30am to reports of a fire at a house in Moymore, around 5km south of Lahinch.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennistymon station, National Ambulance Service paramedics and gardaí attended the incident.
The fire was brought under control by fire crews.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The County Coroner has been notified and the man's body is to be removed to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
A technical examination will be carried out at the property in an effort to establish the cause of the fire.
