Tributes are being paid to a 20-year-old Clare footballer who died yesterday.
The GAA community in Co Clare has been shocked by the announcement of the tragic death of Lahinch native Éanna Rouine.
Mr Rouine died in St James's Hospital in Dublin surrounded by his family and friends.
He has been described as a very talented footballer, athlete, musician and community member.
The Ennistymon club player had represented Clare at both Under 20 and minor levels, and also played for the University of Limerick.
He was described as a talented footballer who comes from a staunch footballing family.
Clare GAA said in a social media post that the GAA community is "deeply shocked and profoundly saddened by the untimely passing of Ennistymon’s Éanna Rouine".
"Éanna was an extremely talented and promising young footballer with both club and county," the statement said.
"His loss has left a void that words cannot fill, and his absence will be felt not only on the field but in the hearts of all who knew him in his community and circle of friends in north Clare".
Cllr Shane Talty, who is Chairman of Ennistymon GAA club, said the community has been shattered by the news of his untimely passing.
"Éanna was a bright and talented young man, taken far too soon. We are humbled by the outpouring of support from across the GAA fraternity locally and across the county.
"Our thoughts, energy and prayers are focused on supporting Éanna’s loving family through this terribly difficult time".
Books of condolence have been opened at Clare County Council offices in Ennistymon and Ennis.
Mr Rouine is survived by his parents John and Caitríona, brothers Eoin and Dara, sister Bríd-Áine and extended family.
His funeral will take place in Lahinch on Sunday.
