A motorcyclist in his 30s has died after a crash in Co Limerick last night.
The incident took place on the N69 at Cloonreask, Askeaton shortly before 8pm.
The man was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The road remains closed for technical examination by garda forensic collision investigators this morning and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling on the N69 near Askeaton between 7.15pm and 8.15pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
