A man has been arrested as part of an investigation targetting a crime gang suspected of being involved in burglaries and the theft of high-value vehicles.

The man in his late 30s was arrested in Limerick city yesterday afternoon.

He is being held at a garda station in the Munster area.

The gang is suspected of carrying out burglaries at businesses and residential properties, as well as stealing high-value vehicles.

The operation was carried out as part of an intelligence-led operation by gardaí from the Clare/Tipperary Division, along with the Regional Support and Air Support units.

Gardaí have said the investigation is ongoing.
