A boy has died after being struck by a tractor in Co Kerry last night.

The incident happened at Beaufort Bridge at around 7.30pm.

His body was removed to University Hospital Kerry where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

A man in his 20s who was driving the tractor was uninjured.

The road has been closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
