Two women have died and two young children were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Mallow, Co Cork.
The incident happened on the N72 Killarney to Mallow Road near Cork Racecourse at around 3.50pm yesterday afternoon.
The deceased, aged in the 60s and 40s, were the two drivers of the vehicles.
The woman in her 40s was travelling with children at the time of the incident.
The children, a boy and girl, were taken to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
The road was closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene.

Major traffic diversions were in place and were likely to remain in effect overnight.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the area between 3pm and 4pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
