Static speed camera to be introduced on N69 in Limerick

A static speed camera will come into operation on the N69 in Co Limerick on Friday.

The camera is being introduced on the road at Ballyhomin, Askeaton.

Gardaí say it will be able to detect motorists driving over the 100km/h speed limit.

Anyone found to be driving in excess of the limit will be issued with a fixed charge notice, which carries three penalty points and includes a €160 fine.

Last week, a speed camera system started operating on the N2 in Co Meath.
