A 55-year-old man has died following a road crash in Co Cork in the early hours of this morning.
The single car crash occurred on the N71 in Clonakilty at around 12.15am.
The driver, who has been named locally as Marco Christian Da Costa, was travelling alone and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
No other injuries were reported.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between midnight and 12.30am, to contact Clonakilty Garda Station on 023 882 1570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
