A 42-year old man has been before a special district court sitting in Limerick, charged in connection with the death of Marguerita Sheridan in Rathkeale.
Danny O'Donoghue with an address at Lower Main Street in Rathkeale, Co Limerick, is facing five charges, including dangerous driving causing Marguerita Sheridan's death.
He was remanded in custody.
Marguerita Sheridan was a 21-year-old mother of one who gave birth to her first child just over three weeks ago.
She was fatally injured when she was struck by a vehicle which did not stop, as she was attempting to close a large set of gates leading to a house at Bank Place in Rathkeale shortly after midday on Saturday.
She died later at University Hospital Limerick.
Investigating gardaí arrested a man in connection with the incident yesterday morning.
He was questioned throughout the day.
A van, which gardaí believe was involved in the incident, was also recovered and has been examined.

He was charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Marguerita Sheridan at Bank Place/Well Lane, Rathkeale last Saturday.
He is also charged with criminal damage to two steel gates at the property.
He is further charged with making a threat to kill or cause serious harm to Patrick Sheridan at Ballywilliam, Rathkeale, on Saturday, and with producing a machete during the course of making the threat.
The final charge alleges that he caused criminal damage to Patrick Sheridan's van at Ballywilliam.
Detective Garda Elaine O'Keeffe of Newcastle West Garda Station gave evidence of arresting Danny O'Donoghue at 6pm this evening and putting all five charges to him.
She said he made no reply.
Garda Inspector Liz Kennedy said gardaí would be objecting to bail, but Mr O'Donoghue's solicitor Mike O'Donnell said no bail application was being made.
Judge Alec Gabbett remanded Danny O'Donoghue in custody.
He will be before the court again via video link on Friday.
