Woman injured in Limerick collision last month dies in hospital

A woman aged in her 30s who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision involving a car and a bus in Co Limerick almost three weeks ago has died.

She was a passenger in a car involved in the collision just outside Ballylanders, Co Limerick on 26 October.

The bus was carrying 23 young people along with a number of adults. No one on the bus was seriously injured but all were medically assessed at the scene.

The woman was airlifted to Cork University Hospital following the crash, but has since died.

A full team of emergency service vehicles and personnel including gardaí, fire services and paramedics attended the scene because of the potential for more serious injuries.

A full garda investigation was launched into what caused the accident.

The collision was subsequently referred to GSOC who are also investigating the circumstances of the crash.
