A man in his 90s has died after he was struck by a car in Co Cork.
The incident happened in the car park of a supermarket in Fermoy shortly after 11am.
A woman in her 60s was also seriously injured in the collision and she was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car, a man in his 90s, received medical attention at the scene.
The area has been sealed off for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
They want to hear from anyone who was in the Courthouse Road area of the town between 10.45am and 11.30am to contact them.
Road users who may have camera footage from the area is also asked to make it available to gardaí.

Local councillor Noel McCarthy described the incident as "a very sad tragedy".
He said people are shocked and cannot believe anything like this could happen in Fermoy.
"Emergency services and first responders were quick to arrive on the scene. The rescue helicopter landed around 11.30am and was there for just under two hours.
"My heart goes out to the victim and those who are injured," he said.
