A man aged in his 20s has been arrested over criminal damage at a property in Cork city as well as a crash which left a pedestrian in a serious condition.
A man aged in his 60s is being treated for serious injuries after being hit by a motorcycle on the Churchfield Road last Friday evening.
He is continuing to receive treatment at Cork University Hospital.
A short time before the crash, gardaí were called to an incident of criminal damage at a property in the Shanakiel area of the city.
Today, the man in his was 20s was arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, and is being detained at a garda station in the south of the country.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone with information in relation to these incidents or road users with video footage to contact them.
