Four people have been arrested after drugs worth €500,000 were seized following two garda operations in Co Cork yesterday.

In Carrigtwohill, drugs worth €260,000 were seized by gardaí during a search of a residential premises yesterday.

During the search, suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of €140,000 and suspected cocaine with a street value of €120,000 was recovered.

A woman in her 40s and two men, one in his 50s and one in his late teens, were arrested and are being questioned at garda stations in Cork.

Separately, a man in his 20s was arrested after 12kg of cannabis, with an estimated street value of €240,000, was seized in Cork city.

The drugs were found in a search of a residential premises in the Mahon area yesterday.

The man is currently being held at a garda station in Cork city.

Gardaí said all the drugs seized will be sent for forensic analysis and that investigations are ongoing.
